Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas, friends! Sending you all my love and appreciation. May your heart and home be filled with all of the joys the festive season brings.

Here’s our annual Christmas rap that is sure to bring some chuckles.

Whoa, two thousand seventeen is out like a light
It’s rap time and the wife has told me to expedite
So hang on tight ‘cause here we go
This is the prelude to Santa’s show

Kinsley turned five – holy cow, I can’t believe it
Fortunately for me she has her mother’s wit
She’s now a Kindergartener and preschool alumni
For Halloween she decided to be a butterfly

I knew potty training Noah would take some luck
Still teaching him how to point and tuck
I still encourage and tell him “good try little fellow”
But for now our bathroom walls will be a shade of yellow

The kids were able to be flower girl and ring bearer
They made it all the way down the aisle without error
Kinsley sure does love to get out there and dance
Her mom is to blame if you see a twerk stance

No family is a family without a few fights here and there
Most are warranted when dad pokes momma bear
Fortunately several are with snow, tickles or balloons filled with water
The battles usually end with dad in a fetal position yelling “man-slaughter!”

This year we made a big decision and bought a new house
Doing so is one extreme way to test the love of a spouse
We’re now living a few streets over on Morning Dew
My honey-do-list is up to one thousand and twenty two

We started our projects with a studio for Katie’s photos
Replaced carpet with luxury vinyl tile in long, long rows
Life lesson #1…The more projects you do to serve the misses
The more brownie points you get and thus the more kisses

Derby, a.k.a. Bubba, is enjoying barking in the new yard
The squirrels world changed and entry is now barred
We keep track of our anniversary based on Derby’s age
9 years ago this whole thing started on a church stage

Took a summer beach trip to escape the internet
There is no better place to witness God’s sunset
Lots of laughs, walks on the beach and naps in the den
It’s always a kick in the butt when reality sets back in

Dr. Seuss is quite popular around our kiddos’ bedtimes
And so it’s appropriate to include one of his great rhymes
“Maybe Christmas, he thought, doesn’t come from a store. Maybe Christmas … perhaps … means a little bit more!”

And that’s a wrap for your annual Wilson jingle
Now you can get back to prepping for ole Kris Kringle
We are blessed to know you and wish you the best in 2018
If you’re in Richmond, come see us … even if it’s unforeseen

 Noah (2)

Kinsley (5)

Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year!

Love, the Wilsons
